The Lies we Tell Ourselves documents the lives of dozens of characters living, loving and losing in Boston, MA; a compassionate, aspiring writer determined to avoid the life his father has attemped to force upon him since childhood; a silver-tongued, successful businessman whose desire to win back the love of his life nearly destroys him; a strikingly beautiful Harvard grad student from San Francisco struggling to find where she fits in, if at all; an overworked husband and father who suddenly finds himself without purpose; and a twenty-something male broken after a tragic event renders him nearly incapable of caring for himself.

These independent characters (and many more) share a common thread that goes beyond their co-existence in Boston - they are all searching for love and passion to replace their everyday.

I was a passionate writer long before I was a Nanowrimo novice. Whether it was poetry, short stories or just pouring out my emotions daily in a journal it has always been about documenting and expressing through words the here, now and what is to come. I hope you enjoy this year's nano compilation - it's about lies, addictions and love - with love being my addiction.
